COVID Update
Patriot Family,

As you may be aware the Ohio Department of Health requires schools to report any cases of COVID to all stakeholders.  We wanted to review our procedures with you to help ensure the safety of the students and staff at Patriot.

If any student or staff member tests positive for COVID or has been exposed to someone with COVID (within 6 ft. for 15 minutes or longer), please complete the Report a Positive COVID Test or Exposure to COVID form online.  Upon receiving notification, Mrs. Gould, our Nurse and COVID Coordinator, will contact the person who submitted the report if additional information is needed.  We will also report the incident to Columbus Public Health and follow their guidance and procedures.

If it is determined to be a confirmed case which lead to student or staff exposure, the following steps will be taken:

  • All students and staff exposed (within 6 ft. for 15 minutes or longer) will be contacted directly and required to quarantine per Ohio Department of Health guidelines.
  • All students and staff who were in the same class (ie. 4B maroon cohort) will be notified.
  • All stakeholders will be informed via the Mandatory COVID Reporting link.

We are thankful that we have not had any reports of positive causes from students of staff, but believe it will likely occur sometime this school year.  Due to the fact that 37% of our students are 100% online and our average class size is approximately 8 students, we believe there is a very low risk of exposure as we are able to achieve 6 ft. of social distancing throughout the school day.  Please rest assured that we will continue to do all we can to keep our students and staff healthy while trying to provide the best educational opportunities during this challenging time.

Sincerely,

Sean Smith
Superintendent
