4th & 5th Grade Science Camp
Every year, it is our privilege to take 4th and 5th grade students to Science Camp. On March 6, 77 students and 7 teachers/staff left Patriot for 4 days and 3 nights in the woods (well, actually cabins). After our 2 1/2 hour drive, we arrived at Camp Muskingum to enjoy nature. Students took classes like ecosystems, wilderness survival, and camouflage.  We went on a night hike to learn about constellations, planets, and night vision. Students visited the nature center and were able to touch some animals (turtle, snake, etc.). Students also played a game of Predator vs. Prey. Science Camp is a great time for students to bond while brushing up on some science concepts using hands-on learning before state testing for fifth grade. After four days, we returned on Thursday, March 9 with very tired students and staff ready for a relaxing spring break.
