As you may be aware, the Ohio Department of Health requires schools to report any cases of COVID to all stakeholders. We want to review our procedures with you to help ensure the safety of the students and staff at Patriot. If any student or staff member tests positive for COVID or has been exposed to someone with COVID (within 6 feet for more than 15 minutes), please complete the “Report a Positive COVID Test or Exposure to COVID” form online at our website, patriotprep.com. Upon receiving notification, Mrs. Gould, our Nurse and COVID Coordinator, will contact the person who submitted the report if additional information is needed. Per the guidelines at that time, Columbus Public Health will also receive a report if required.
If it is determined that a student or staff member is potentially exposed to COVID at school, the Guidelines for Quarantine After Exposure Flow Chart (located under health resources to the right) will be followed:
In addition, the following steps will be taken to notify:
- All students and staff potentially exposed (within 6 feet for 15min or longer) will be contacted directly and may be required to quarantine per Ohio Department of Health guidelines (see flow chart above).
- All students and staff who were in close contact but not necessarily exposed (a classroom, for instance) will be notified via email.
- All stakeholders will be informed via the “Mandatory COVID Reporting” link on our website.
The current data continues to show that most exposures that lead to positive COVID cases happen outside of the school setting. We will continue to do all we can to keep our students and staff healthy while trying to provide the best educational opportunities during this challenging time. Please help us achieve this goal by following the recommended guidelines to STAY HOME if anyone in the household has COVID, is being tested for COVID, or has symptoms consistent with COVID.
