Toy Drive

Dear Parents:

During our Character Development classes for Elementary students, we have been discussing how to show others less fortunate than ourselves, love, especially during the holidays. Well, your wonderful children collectively decided, that we, the Patriot Preparatory Academy family, should host an Elementary Department Christmas TOY DRIVE. We chose to give to the Nationwide Children's Hospital. "A gift of toys, games or activity supplies can make a big difference to children and families spending time in the hospital", as stated by Nationwide Children's Hospital.

That being said, there are guidelines that must be followed when donating to the hospital. Please see below. There are gift suggestions from Nationwide Children's on the back.
  1. Due to infection control and allergies, they CANNOT accept used or gently used toys of any kind. This includes stuffed animals that have not been played with but been on display on shelves in a home. They CAN accept NEWLY purchased stuffed animals with tags still attached.
  2. Please DO NOT include food items (snacks/candy).
  3. They must see ALL items before they are distributed, so please DO NOT wrap the gifts for the children.
  4. Please make sure ALL hand sewn items are checked for pins, and needles that you may have used during construction.
  5. They CANNOT accept donations of toys with weapons or violent themes, such as guns, knives, swords, or other projectiles. This includes styrofoam or plastic bullets.

The TOY DRIVE will begin Monday, December 4th, and end Friday, December 15th, 2017. We believe with your help, we can truly be a blessing. While the Elementary is running the program, older students are invited to donate gifts as well.

Please contact Mrs. Briggs at [email protected] with any questions.

Thank you in advance for all your help.
